OfflineTranslator ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by BuildByte3D. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and what — if anything — leaves your device. This English version is the authoritative one; translations are provided for convenience.
Summary
OfflineTranslator is designed to do translation, OCR, and speech recognition on your device. We do not operate any backend server for this app, we do not require an account, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no ad SDK.
Permissions we request, and why

| Camera | Used to capture photos or a live camera feed for on-screen text translation (OCR). Frames are processed on-device; we do not upload photos or camera frames to our own servers (we don't have any). |
| Microphone | Used for speech-to-speech and speech-to-text translation. Audio is processed on-device through Google ML Kit's on-device speech APIs; we do not record or store your voice on our own servers. |
| Photos / Media (Storage) | Used only when you pick an existing photo from your gallery to translate text in it. |
| Internet / Network state | Used to download language packs required by Google ML Kit's on-device translation, OCR, and language-identification models, and to check connectivity before doing so. The app's own translation logic runs offline once those packs are downloaded. |
| Notifications | Used to show status for longer-running background operations (e.g. downloading a language pack). |
| Foreground service | Keeps a background task (such as a model download) alive and visible to you via a notification while it runs. |
Data we store
If you save a translation (e.g. to your phrasebook), it is stored in a local database on your device only. We have no server to send it to, and we cannot see it. If Android's automatic device backup is enabled on your phone, this local data may be included in backups Android makes to your own Google Account — that backup is managed by Android/Google, not by us.
Third-party processing
Translation, on-device OCR, language identification, and on-device speech recognition are provided by Google ML Kit. Google ML Kit's on-device APIs process input locally on your device; network access is used only to download the model files themselves. See Google ML Kit's documentation and Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles this.
The app can optionally hand off to the separate Google Lens app or the Google app (if installed on your device) by launching it directly — the same way tapping any app icon does. We do not control what that app does with your data once it opens; see Google's own privacy policy for that app.
What we don't do
- We don't require you to create an account.
- We don't include any analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDK in the app.
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't have a server that stores your photos, audio, or translations.
Children's privacy
OfflineTranslator is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's Play Store listing.
